I am an open book.
You probably won’t hear from me today, but I’ll leave a surprise for you at the door with Uncle Jimmy. I got emotional this morning, because I knew I would not be able to even let you know that I remember that today is your big day! Happy birthday little one. We’ll talk soon enough [:

I forgot to fill you all in with my Reiki experience. I have been dealing with some fucked up shit (that’s all I have to say about that), and my mom invited me to try this new energy healing procedure at my acupuncturist’s office: Reiki. I had no previous knowledge about what this procedure entailed or how long it might be, but I was more than happy to try it out. Having been through a lot the past month, I agreed to open up to a new experience, and I have to say that it was very spiritual and liberating. It’s a short session of spiritual/physical “healing” where a trained practitioner places their hands on or just right about the recipient in various positions moving energy through the body. Generally the recipient is reported to feel warmth or tingling in the areas being treated even when a non-touching approach is being used. Treatment is said to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes and sometimes used for specific health problems.
Personally, I did feel a lot of energy flowing through and out of my body. During the session, hands were placed all over my body beginning with my head and shoulders down to my legs. After the reiki session, my practitioner confirmed with me that I was on my female cycle. Impressive. She didn’t speak English well enough to ask me anything beforehand. When I arose after treatment, my head was throbbing lightly — not in pain. It was just a feeling of stimulation, my body felt new. I have to say I’m a little skeptical to all of this, but it does promote the idea of allowing yourself and/or someone else to help you release pain, stress, fear, etc. It’s pretty interesting. Since then, I’ve gained a lot of energy and I feel it’s given me a lot of strength to get by with everything I’m doing..
